How pharmacies can help

Advise and treatment

Pharmacies can give you advice on a range of conditions and suggest medicines you can buy that can help.

They may also be able to offer treatment for some conditions, without needing to see a GP:

Sinusitis (adults and children aged 12 years and over)
Sore throat (adults and children aged 5 years and over)
Earache (children and young adults aged 1 year and over)
Infected insect bite (adults and children aged 1 year and over)
Impetigo (adults and children aged 1 year and over)
Shingles (adults aged 18 and over)
Urinary tract infection (women, aged 16-64 years)
